Office of Employment & Training:
Helps job seekers obtain employment; assists employers
locate qualified workers; includes: Unemployment Insurance benefits
to eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their
own; labor market information for employers and job seekers; specialized
services for workers affected by layoffs resulting from foreign
trade; employment and training services for Veterans and Migrant/Seasonal
Farmworkers. |

Department For Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational Rehabilitation helps persons with disabilities.
The disability must impose an impediment to employment, or the
individual must need to prepare for, obtain or return to suitable
work.
Services - Vocational counseling, information & referral,
educational assistance, on-the-job training, assistive technology,
and job placement help. |

TENCO Workforce Investment Act:
Adults, Dislocated Workers, and Youth receive core
and intensive services. Services may include - Eligibility determination,
assessment and development of individual service strategy; short-term
prevocational assistance for adults and dislocated workers; training
services for adults, dislocated workers, and youth; coordination
of resources for eligible individuals; supportive services for
enrolled participants; on-the-job training; customized training
services for employers; assistance with job search and resume
development in coordination with one-stop partner agencies; occupational
exploration an materials. |

Adult Education and Literacy:
Offers GED preparation, adult basic education and
literacy, English as a second language, skills upgrade, and basic
computer and workplace essential skills training to individuals.
Services are offered for families and employers; available at
work sites and local learning centers. |

Kentucky Office for the Blind:
Assists individuals with visual disabilities or
impairments to prepare them in obtaining employment and independent
living. |

Job Corps:
Provides a significant, comprehensive residential
education and job training program for youth ages 16-24. Program
helps youth obtain independence, while receiving quality education
and long-term employment. |

Senior Employment Program:
Provides employment and training for individuals
55 or over. Program participants work at community and government
agencies where they receive training to assist in gaining unsubsidized
employment. |

Community Services Block Grant:
Utilizes the resources of a network of community
action programs and other neighborhood based organizations for
the reduction of poverty, the revitalization of low income communities,
and the empowerment of low income families to become self sufficient. |
|
Housing and Urban Development:
Provides families that live in public housing with
better access to education and employment opportunities that will
ultimately help them to achieve economic self sufficiency. |
|
Education and Applied Technology Act:
These services provide uniquely accessible and affordable
education and training to increase access to training related
technical and post secondary fields of study. Additional services
include the availability of career assessments, Work Keys evaluation,
custom industry courses, and distance learning experiences. |

Frontier Housing:
A non-profit organization offering safe and affordable
housing for low income families, homeownership counseling, and
education. |
|
Community Based Services:
Offers access to public assistance including: TANF/KTAP;
food stamps; medicaid; permanency and protective services for
children, the elderly, and families. |
|
Commonwealth Education Opportunity Center:
This federally funded program offers assistance
to individuals seeking information about post secondary training,
completing financial aid forms, and information on scholarships. |
|
Juvenile Justice:
Offers employment and training assistance for juveniles
who have been involved with the court system and need assistance
in transitioning to home and the world of work. |
Eligibility Requirements:
All customers may access the core services offered in
each center. This includes job search assistance, resume preparation,
program information, and access to other programs that might assist
with job search or career advancement.
To qualify for more intensive training or services offered by one-stop
partners, individuals will need to meet eligibility requirements. Such
services include: assistance with training costs, short tem pre-vocational
assistance, on-the-job training, intensive job search assistance, supportive
services, public assistance, housing assistance, etc.
